Overall my experience was negative. After several phone interviews they started delaying the on whom they chose for onsite interviews. First was one week to allow a local candidate interview. Then it was someone was on vacation. and finally it was another local candidate. If hiring local was so important than why interview out-of-state? If you do not like the candidates interviewed than just say so and move on. I got the feeling they were stringing me along until they could find someone better. The pay range they quoted during the phone screen was way too low for a ME with some experience. I checked the Bureau of Labor Statistics website and found that for the country and for Wisconsin that the range was about 10K-13K below average. I guess they are hoping to find an engineer that doesn't value themselves or doesn't even know to check what the profession is worth. I found Generac to be dishonest and less than professional. The job posting stated one city but I later learned it was for a much smaller town. Coupled with the dismal initial pay range I decided I probably dodged a bullet and count myself lucky.
