Junior Accountant Job Description

What is a Junior Accountant?

As a Junior Accountant you will perform accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Under the supervision of a Senior Accountant you will assist in the preparation and submission of taxes and other financial reports. You will submit payroll taxes and reconcile ledgers. You will be responsible for staying abreast of state and federal guidelines as well as GAAP standards.

You could be an ideal candidate if you have a bachelor's degree in account and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a large size accounting firm. Not only do you need to have proficiency using a computer and advanced knowledge of Excel and other accounting software programs. Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills in addition to the ability to keep information confidential are also key for this position.
