Pros

Teams have extremely smart and kind engineers. Everyone I've worked with across multiple teams has had a willingness to help out when you get stuck, and the amount of collaboration I've seen was very different from how I expected a fully remote company to operate. Full remote work is a huge perk, and Auth0 gives employees a lot of flexibility in terms of how they work. As we're located across different localities, most of my teammates have drastically different schedules. While it has its downsides, the company makes it work surprisingly well.

Cons

A lot of complexity to manage for even individual contributors within teams. There's a lot of cross-functional work (which may not be everyone's cup of tea). Also, sometimes coordination across timezones can be difficult. Depending on the team, you could be the only west coaster on a team of east coasters, or you could be an engineer in Europe when the rest of the team is in the US.

Pros

Renowned product that has a real impact in the industry. Great opportunities to learn about the product. New initiatives are well-broadcasted. The engineering team is great. As are all the individual teams (docs, sales, solutions engineering, qa, product) and they are generally open to share. It is an easy company to really care about, which makes some of the tedious legacy work and shifting priorities balanced.

Cons

Good managers end up with ballooning responsibilities and direct reports can fail to get needs met. New higher-level management were ruthless during the transition into the acquisition, and the culture suffered immensely. Became very bureaucratic and dysfunctional.
