Pros

I tell my friends all the time that I'm so lucky to be a part of a company like this one. So far they've given me autonomy to hit the ground running and implement my ideas. The founders are extremely passionate about making a quality product through the most sustainable methods possible. Seeing that passion and drive definitely permeates throughout the company. I also noticed that my direct reports prioritize maintaining a fine balance between getting work done, keeping things positive and flexing our muscles to think of solutions from a different perspective. The higher ups are working on keeping communication open on the team and the company with monthly town halls, check-ins and cultivating an atmosphere where we feel comfortable in providing feedback whenever we need to. Doesn't hurt that we have dogs running around all the time and weekly Friday socials!

Cons

As we grow, we're still figuring out the most efficient processes to keep us organized. But I see improvements already - we cut down meeting times and are in the process of on-boarding the company to using a few software tools that'll help us work better as a team. We also have a LOT of great ideas - but we need to focus on a few, stay focused and execute.

Pros

- Open Farm truly stands behind its mission to create positive change with their products and practices. The company is doing something meaningful and the impact is real. - The product and brand are well-loved, and it’s exciting to work for a company with a clear sense of purpose.

Cons

- Leadership is a major drawback. While they claim there are no egos, in reality, egos are rampant and decision-making is often driven by personal interests rather than what’s best for the company. - A culture of favoritism runs high. If you're not in the "good books," your contributions might be overlooked, and feedback — especially regarding leadership — is unwelcome unless you want to be fired. Feedback for you will also vary from week to week. - Employee feedback is largely ignored, and there’s a tendency to gaslight when concerns are raised. They don't seem to care about improving the work environment or addressing real issues.
