Benefits cost employers millions; in fact, every 69 cents employers pay in salary to employees, they spend another 31 cents on benefits according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Today, Glassdoor announced a new feature, which allows companies to bring more transparency to their own benefits packages. A win for job seekers and employers alike as benefits become clearer up front, and companies are able to be as competitive as possible to offer the best benefits out there.
Hiring is easier with killer employee benefits packages
Since 59% of employees are likely to accept a lower salary in exchange for better benefits1, it only makes sense that companies should have the opportunity to highlight what makes their benefits packages attractive and unique. This helps job seekers more easily compare benefits packages and perks at companies, and choose one that will fit their needs long term. For HR managers creating benefits packages, the feature provides a direct way of benchmarking their benefits packages against competitors in a way they couldn’t before.
How to use Glassdoor's company benefits comparison tool
When signing into the Glassdoor Employer Center with a Free Employer Account, an official company representative can indicate the benefits offered by selecting from more than 50 benefits or perks in six different categories, including:
- Insurance, health and wellness (e.g., health and dental insurance)
- Financial and retirement (e.g., 401(k), pension plans)
- Family and parenting (e.g., onsite daycare, adoption assistance)
- Vacation and time off (e.g., holiday pay, sabbaticals)
- Perks and discounts (e.g., free lunches, dog friendly office, company car)
- Professional support (e.g., diversity program, tuition assistance)
