Responsibilities and duties may include electrical and mechanical diagnostics, replacement part vehicle repairs, and ordering of replacement part for various makes and models of cars and truck. Auto Technicians are also tasked with maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
While the educational background of an Auto Technician can vary drastically, most modern dealerships will require a certification from the manufactures preferred training program. Smaller independent shops will always prefer some certification, but may often accept experience and work history for consideration of employment.
