I’ve been trying to get my foot in the door with AtkinsRéalis for quite some time, applying through their job postings on their website and other job boards, but I never made it past the screening stage. I attended their virtual career fair hoping to explore different teams and roles, and that’s where I finally got an interview, though it ended up being for the Water team in the Glasgow office, which wasn’t my first choice.
To be honest, the entire process left me quite disappointed. The HR communication was confusing and unhelpful. The interview itself was a mix of technical questions about wastewater and some competency based ones, but what really threw me off was how informal it felt. The interviewer kept calling me “mate” throughout, which felt out of place for a professional interview. I was hoping to interview for a different team, but it seemed like at the career fair, they push candidates into the teams they need rather than what you’re actually interested in.
To make matters worse, there was zero follow up after the interview. No feedback, no update, nothing; just a complete ghosting. Maybe others have had better experiences, but this was mine, and it was enough to make me not want to try again with AtkinsRéalis.
