Interview
The initial response after submitting my application was quick and appreciated. I had a first interview with a current Business Development Representative, which went well and was informative. However, the process became increasingly disorganized afterward.
My interview with the branch manager was scheduled, but she forgot about the meeting. I had to send a follow-up email, after which she joined the call. She mentioned they were hiring three Business Development Representatives and had already filled one position with an internal candidate. I was then asked to email again to schedule the next interview with the rest of the team and to provide my salary requirements. That team interview did take place as planned.
Following this, there was no communication or update until I personally reached out. Only then was I informed they had decided to move forward with an internal candidate. Given that multiple roles were reportedly open, this was especially disappointing and unclear.
While I understand hiring someone with internal experience, the lack of follow-through, missed interview, and reactive communication reflected a poorly managed process. Better organization and transparency would significantly improve the candidate experience.
