Interview process was thorough and multiple levels. They emphasize social skills and having a strong engineering background. Much of the technical learning for the position is done after being hired.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Situational analysis for different types of hazards.
Mostly waiting for a response and not hearing back from anyone. Seems like a disjointed process. I had a reference from someone who has been at the company a long time and it still took 9 months to make it half way through the process.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at FM (Dunboyne) in Mar 2021
Interview
A very straightforward interview process. There were no trick questions, and it was focused mainly on competencies. It seemed like a really nice place to work, with people that I could easily work with.
There was an initial phone screening interview, followed by a virtual one on one with the hiring manager, and a final interview with three senior managers.
I was surprised to be asked how old I was, and if I had any family. These are non-standard interview questions, and pretty much frowned on today. If this type of question offends you, you better avoid.
I was a bit disappointed not to be offer the position as it was a role that would have really suited me. It took well over two weeks after the final interview to be told that I was unsuccessful, which I felt was too long.
