      Risk Analyst Interview

      Jun 14, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Faire in May 2022

      Interview

Honestly this was the weirdest interview experience I have ever had. The recruiter reached out to me and asked me to add time to his calendar. I was curious enough so I set up a chat. He emailed me about 5 minutes after the interview was supposed to begin saying he couldn't find my telephone number so I replied with my telephone number. Once we began speaking, he was talking about a role which I was not qualified and had no interest in. I preceeded to direct him to the role which matched my background and we finally had the conversation. His last question was regarding expected pay. I redirected and asked about the pay range for the role to which he fumbled around and gave me a pay range from $72k-$120k. I was moved on and had two conversations with the hiring manager. I was never given any expectations regarding the extent of the process, just we will let you know after every conversation. The interview questions throughout the process all had a tone of tell me why I shouldn't give you this job and had me on the defensive the entire time. i.e. tell me about when things were going wrong for you, tell about a time you missed a deadline, what is your biggest weakness(never asked my strengths). By the time I received the rejection email I was relieved because I was pretty sure I would decline if I received an offer.
