I recently interviewed for a position and was told by the recruiter that I would receive a personal update by Tuesday regarding next steps. During the process, I also sent a follow-up question about that never received a response.
Instead of receiving the promised update, I received an automated rejection email after midnight on a Saturday. While I completely respect the company’s hiring decision, the communication throughout the process did not align with the expectations that had been set.
Timely and transparent communication is an important part of the candidate experience. Had I been informed that plans had changed or that a personal follow-up would not be possible, I would have appreciated the clarity.
Unfortunately, the process left me feeling my time and engagement was not valued.
I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future applicants. I will never consider GE as a potential employer again.
