The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Generac Power Systems (Vancouver, BC) in Jan 2023
Interview
A simple interview where you have to show how to solve some problems on a board. I was interviewed by the VP of software and the manager. They were friendly and direct no trick questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Generac Power Systems
Interview
The most disrespectful experience I've had yet.
I applied online to an entry level Software Developer role. The next day, a senior recruiter reached out to schedule an interview. An hour before the interview, she emails me saying the role is cancelled and will let me know if anything changes. I see that the role is taken down. A couple of weeks later, it's reposted and I don't hear anything from her. I send her an email to check in. Nothing. I attempt to re-apply to the role but it says that I've already applied. I try and see what happens if I send in the same exact application using my second email. The SAME recruiter reaches out to my second email asking again for an interview. The day of the interview comes and I get stood up, without an email from her before or after. I ask if we should reschedule. Nothing.
I had a contact within the company who then gets me in touch with a director. She acknowledges the recruiters are hard to work with and schedules to interview me herself. I do a screening with her and then one with another director. She asked me to let her know when I'm available for an on-site. I send her my availability. Nothing. Two weeks later I send a follow-up to her and the other director. Still nothing.
I am just appalled and disappointed. I perhaps should not have been surprised as the recent reviews for this company do not look good. This is a company that does not value professionalism and respect. A simple, "we will not be moving forward with your candidacy due to this reason" would have taken them SO far, but not one of the three people I was in contact with could spare the two seconds.
To quote one of the recent reviews, "Avoid if possible."
