The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at March of Dimes (Victoria, BC)
Interview
Very straightforward, consisting of one phone screening and one formal virtual interview with the operations manager. Their questions were standard and simple to answer, highlighting previous work experience. I heard back within a week.

Question 1
What do you know about Customized Employment? What experience do you have working with people with disabilities?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at March of Dimes (Ottawa, ON) in Dec 2015
Interview
I was offered a position following the final interview, followed by negotiating the terms and being provided with a new offer via email. When I phoned the following day to discuss my start date, I left a message also advising that I wanted to discuss an accommodation of a sit stand desk. I received a voice mail message later that day advising they could no longer offer me the position as Veteran Affairs whom they get their funding from for the program did not approve my education and experience as sufficient ( I was asked to fill out an authorization and was instructed to put point form basic info about my experience, that it usually takes 1-3 weeks for official approval to work on the computer system however, that usually they will get the hired candidate to start work regardless.) My issues with how the organization handled the situation :
1) In less than 1 business day after the authorization form was submitted to Veterans Affairs (usually 1-3 weeks to process), my offer was reneged by VAC? My education and experience was clearly indicated on my resume and was discussed in detail during the interview process. A government department is dictating who can be hired at a charity organization????
2) The only thing that changed in those few business hours was my request for an accommodation for my disability. Did an organization aimed to help those with disabilities reneg the job offer because of my request
3) When I phoned back the team leader to discuss, I left a message asking that they return the call to further discuss and asked if there was any recourse that could be taken such as providing further information to explain my experience, instead of the point form information provided as suggested (by that team leader). I also asked if they could kindly send me an email to confirm the reasons why. I received a one line email back, no return phone call and the job was re-posted the next day.
