I applied online. I interviewed at Rocket Loans in Jan 2026
Interview
1 phone screen, 1 technical interview discussing experience, 1 take-home case study, and 1 final interview to present the case study. The biggest issue was that they expected a whole case study instead of the usual 3-4 hour assignment, all the way from EDA to modeling and inference. It must've taken me at least 10 hours just to get it to a presentable state. On top of that, the topic also seemed directly aligned with the team’s actual work, and it was explicitly mentioned they might explore or use parts of what I built later, which made it seem like unpaid work. While everyone was professional, I still felt like my time wasn't respected.

Question 1
Talk in-depth about specific experiences on resume
Three stages for my interview process for me. First met with the recruiter then had a panel interview that at their Detroit office. Asked me questions about how I would handle different situations. They were tough but personable.

Tell me about a time when you failed and you overcame that failure.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rocket Loans (Detroit, MI) in Nov 2021
Interview
I first had a phone interview with a recruiter. After that it took up to a week before I would hear anything back that I was selected to move forward with the interview. My interview was conducted via zoom with two attorneys from the legal team. They asked standard interview questions. I received an offer a few days after.
