I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Taiv (Winnipeg, MB)
Interview
Initial 15m phone screen, followed by a 1h culture fit, followed by 3hr technical round + system design. Friendly people and transparent process, no trick questions or gotchas. Whole process took ~1 month from application.
The interviewer began the interview with some information about the company. Namely that they were funded by Y combinator. The interview seemed to be fishing for a reaction to where the funding came from and seemed resentful that I did not share the same enthusiasm for funding. The funding of the company was not relevant to the position, however the interview became short, did not ask any questions about my past experience, skills, ect.
They then ended the interview 10 mins early. It is clear that the process was looking for someone they could dazzle and had very little focus on the actual talent of those interviewed.
Conversations about my past experience for an hour and get to know what problems I have solved and what technologies I have worked with. The questions are generic and open ended. No idea why I didn't get an offer.
