I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at WE (Toronto, ON)
Interview
I had a phone conversation with a man who sounded like he was whispering to me from inside of a closet. His office was extremely noisy, and I could hear another staff member's conversation over the man's voice, asking other staff if they wanted some more wine? The woman asking sounded a little buzzed. I'm not against drinking within the workplace, but there's a time and place for it... it was 1:00 PM on a Tuesday. My first impression of WE was that the environment did not seem professional.
The man did not let me know when a follow-up would happen. I figured he was not interested in me. The salary was also low, but I did not say no to it.
I received an invitation to come in for an interview. I was surprised because I didn't think the man who spoke to me was interested. I accepted the invitation.
I arrived at my interview 20 minutes early and spoke to a lovely receptionist, however, my interview was delayed by 15 minutes. Nobody informed me of the delay, and when the interview did start, nobody apologized for the delay. I did not feel like a priority.
During the interview, the recruiter who I initially spoke too was there. He seemed uninterested, was staring outside the window looking down at people on the sidewalk--I don't think he knew that I saw him doing this. Both the man and the woman in the interview seemed unhappy to be there and were asking me filler questions.
Oddly enough, I was invited back for a final interview (I was so shocked!) with the Head of the Department. Based off my initial interview experience, I declined.
Needless to say, I had a poor candidate experience.
