Recently interviewed for the technical lead role for payments team. There were 3 people in the panel, the interview felt like they all were reluctantly doing this, not even an ounce of energy from the hiring manager., After my answers there will be a long silence, leading me to question if they want further explanation or they were satisfied. Several questions were bundled together and were quite generic in nature. They kept stressing about payments experience when I have explicitly mentioned that I don't have any. Still I managed to answer all the questions well and in the end I got ghosted by the recruiter who was thus far quite responsive, several red flags in the process, feeling like I dodged a bullet.
