Fresh Direct Produce Snapshot
In the heart of Vancouver BC, a small team embarked on a fresh adventure. With a shared passion for produce and a vision to redefine the way communities connect with their fruits and veggies, Fresh Direct Produce (FDP) was born.
Our journey started with just 11 enthusiastic minds and two trusty trucks. As we peddled our way through the local streets, we cultivated relationships with independent grocers, sharing the bounty of select items and a commitment to quality.
Since then, we have quickly blossomed into a vibrant enterprise with more than 260 employees and a fleet of 27 trucks. Initially focused on a niche market providing independent grocers with a select range of items, our dedication to continuous improvement and excellence, coupled with an innovative spirit, spurred our expansion into a full-line produce importer and distributor.
In 2008, after operating out of two locations for two years, we moved into our current home, a 55,000-sq-ft refrigerated warehousing , shipping, and receiving facility, located in the heart of Vancouver. In 2011, we proudly expanded further with our second warehouse location in Calgary, serving our Prairie customers.
In 2019, FDP became the Fresh Direct Produce Group of Companies after it acquired Emperor Specialty Foods and Islands West Produce
