RGIS employees count inventory for customers, primarily large retailers but also manufacturers, using scanners that send information to a computer system at RGIS headquarters. It also provides data collection and store optimization services. The company operates from facilities throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico, as well as in the Asia/Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, and South America; it has more than 400 offices worldwide. Investment firm The Blackstone Group owns a controlling stake in RGIS, which was founded in 1958.
