Pros

If i can give 0.5, i would Good starting place for a recent graduate Some interesting projects and clients

Cons

Highly tough and toxic environment. Take these positive reviews with lots of caution! Basically a staffing firm, they'll hire you full time and pretend to value you but will fire at a moments notice. Some departments are 2-3 people so their "global" presence is questionable Promotions are based on favoritism, not meritocracy Long hours, unappreciative, It is expected that you work long hours and be thankful that you are working at amaris Salary is BELOW market and empty promises made. Poor benefits (if any) No training or "training" on a slide show that is read out loud to you Upper management is not accountable; you cannot ask any questions that may undermine their authority or knowledge Managers are way too young and immature and are solely focused on their own ranking and performance and will backstab and take your work for promotion Who your direct manager is matters a lot. Pray that your manager is competent

Amaris Consulting Response
5y
Good morning Thank you for your comments which we read carefully. We are sorry to hear that your experience at Amaris Consulting has not lived up to your expectations. As far as your feedback is concerned, we strongly believe that every employee must be an actor in their career. To allow them to work on ambitious and challenging projects is to give them an opportunity to develop. In order for this development to be done at its best and for our employees to achieve their evolutionary objectives, we work with several training methods (e-learning, webinar, face to face, coaching, etc.) and on the adaptability of these (needs, level, prospects of evolution..). Taking into account the importance of a work environment, we help our people grow while facilitating the expression of their expectations through monthly "express yourself surveys", where the employee has the opportunity to discuss needs for improvement on their career visibility or management for example. Finally, Amaris Consulting sets its people’s remuneration by taking into account different objective criteria such as the level of experience and the talent profile, but also the reality of the job market under consideration.

Pros

- good for young and ambitious, fresh out of school/no experience - young and dynamic environment and co-workers - fast-paced learning - could be a good company to work if you want to move to another country (they can help with visa/paperwork), immigrants - could be a good experience if you are assigned to a good client as a consultant

Cons

NO ONE should think this is acceptable to work in a company in these conditions. I've seen people leave after 1-2 weeks into their jobs here! - very bad benefits or no coverage (insurance, coverage, vacation, sick/maternity leave) - managers have little to no experience - very very high turnover rate (ask them about how long they are in their positions, you will see how short it has been. If it's long, it is one of their first jobs) - lack of transparency and dishonesty - manipulation from managers and higher ups - all managers are pushed as salesman to their clients and consultants - too young managers that are just very ambitious to get consultants assigned to have commission and win contracts - TOTAL lies about work culture/environment and values (they claim to value importance in work/life balance and mental health...) - very big workload and expectations - expected to work overtime - they even try to WEED out at the beginning to see if you will tough it out as a manager. So they give an insane work schedule and see how you process it - TOXIC work culture, the type that if you work longer hours, its better perceived - bad salaries and will extremely lowball you if they can
