Pros

It is a great place to work as is evidenced by the fact that we have virtually Zero turnover in regular staff. It is unfortunate that we sometimes hire people that are not a good fit for the position they have applied for and that we have had to let them go during the probationary period but it is better to take the pain rather drag it out for both the company and the employee. We have many ,many, benefits at Amico that you do not see at other companies such as occasional free meals, daily sports activities ,elaborate Christmas parties with awards,a great benefit package, and a very comfortable and safe work environment. We also promote from within for most positions and are very loyal to our workforce. We have never had a layoff in 35 years and our business is growing rapidly worldwide BECAUSE of our great employees. I would encourage anyone who is considering working for us to come and see for yourself what we are about, talk to the employees and do your own research as opposed to just reading the posts of some angry past employees who could not make it in this fast paced environment.

Cons

This is an environment where you are required to adjust to the needs of the customers since ultimately they are the ones who rate our company and if you are slow to adjust , this is not the right company for you.

Pros

-Awesome coworkers (the ones in cubicles! Not the ones in offices) -very nice office/cubicle setup -free coffee for those long unpaid overtime hours

Cons

-Management is a joke! They have their own clique. The owner would walk past you everyday and not even bother to say hello! I guess he's too important to waste energy saying hello to his minions! -Make one mistake and you're fired! Just for your replacement to commit the same mistake and get fired too! once you start, the race begins for you to quit before you get fired! Many employees have a list of "fallen soldiers". Ask and you will see this lengthy list. -No training! You get a huge brick tied to your foot from day one. You better not sink! Or you will be thrown under a huge bus! - One manager controls everything except sales. She is literally untouchable! She knows nothing but don't you dare challenge her! -no benefits, long hours, unpaid overtime and salary is a joke for the amount of work and stress that comes with the job!

Pros

The company makes good nice products and is profitable The company is aggressively pursuing the American market. Someone of the best people I have met in my life were at Amico.

Cons

Unless you're in a sales position, the money is not that good and benefits are basic at best. They hold back some money from you until you pass your probationary period...."really"?! No bonus structure or RRSP plans (they don't like employees who are there for a long time, they become viewed as liabilities, not assets to the company) They say they want to train and help you...that's a lie, they don't want to spend a minute on your development. You have to work three times as hard getting the information that is required. Their model is to hire you, work you to the bone until you're used up and broken, then toss you aside for someone else, because they have to keep feeding the grinder. Every hour of additional work you put in is not valued, every mistake made is magnified.
