Getting worse every year - cost

Pros

Nice offices, average benefits, people are generally nice, some teams have work/life balance

Cons

Very old school company, not very innovative, super behind on AI. Post layoffs, workloads increased for employees that stayed - there was no actual plan to restructure the company, just cut costs. Bad leaders / people face no repercussions / performance management.

Pros

Very nice, intelligent group of people. Quite a few people stay with the company for a very long period of time.

Cons

Lots of politics and the review process are very opaque.

Pros

Remote Work and unlimited Vacation option, so the day to day could be structured well.

Cons

Autodesk’s culture feels increasingly fake, driven by leadership that seems blind to the toxic environment they’ve created over the years. Every year, employees are laid off regardless of performance. Leadership repeatedly claims layoffs aren’t an annual occurrence—then a few months later, another thousand people are let go. Their standard line is, “We can’t guarantee that the business won’t make changes for the betterment of certain operations.” Sure, everyone understands that businesses evolve, but laying off thousands of people twice in one year goes far beyond normal adjustments. The CEO insists layoffs aren’t a yearly event at Autodesk, yet they happen twice a year. The message doesn’t match reality. To make matters worse, employees who are laid off get to watch Autodesk continue hiring during the process. Laying people off while actively hiring others sends a terrible message about the company’s culture. It shows a lack of respect and a lack of commitment to the people who helped build the company. Autodesk = bad culture. They’re not “MAKE ANYTHING”—they’re MAKING WORSE for employees.
