      Not enough diversity in high level management. There were women in high level management, but they are all white. There needs to be more representation of people of color in high level management.

      Pros

      Great culture built in Petroleum; They really "get" inclusion and diversity and have really tried to build an inclusive culture Good executive team in North and South Amercia with talented people (mostly)

      Cons

      Executive in Melbourne , with the exception of CEO, don't really get the business and the unique aspects of what is required in the regions. Sad

      Pros

      BHP Billiton, on the whole, legitimately cares about their employees. Their benefit plans are very generous and they truly try to invest in their people. Very approachable executive although pockets of the organization (Head office, Petroleum office) are less so.

      Cons

      Business systems are too rigid and inefficient. The "governance machine" that sits on top is unwilling to make change. This stifles creativity and a lot of your job is about trying to make things that should just work, work... In the projects, the executive is constantly rethinking decisions. Start/stop. Go fast/go slow. Do X, now do Y. Its very frustrating
