Pros

There's not much to be said on the pros side. Spend 2 or 3 years at most for the experience, then leave asap for better pastures!

Cons

The main office of BNP in France manage other offices around the world like France used to manage its colonies, pure exploitations. They bring back most of the profits back to France where they distribute most of it in bonuses to the same people year after year. They offer low salaries, and bonuses are almost inexistant for back office employees. They will give a prorate bonus in the first year, but forget about getting on in subsequent years. Common practice is to find bogus excuses, and only high management gets a decent percentage, and the lack of employees is putting a lot of pressure on management. Subsequently, the good employees leave and regional management is left with underperformers that can't be fired since they are scarred the main office won't approve the replacement. The mismanagement will lead to fraud or major mistakes since there's not enough employees left in the back office to oversee everything.

Pros

Extremely difficult to get fired. Good amount of vacation.

Cons

My experience at BNP was disappointing, largely due to poor management and a lack of accountability. My manager was constantly micromanaging, which hindered my ability to work efficiently. Time was wasted in endless, pointless meetings, leaving little room for real productivity. Even worse, many colleagues who contributed little or no work were never held accountable. Despite their incompetence, some were even promoted, which created a demotivating atmosphere for those who were putting in real effort.

Pros

Gain experience to leave as soon you find something better

Cons

All changing the location of the teams, so the Jersey and NY positions move to Montreal, then stay for 2 years and move to India and Lisbon...A Pattern that rarely changes. Team leaders who know that their team will be terminated but don't say anything and the opposite, ask for the employees to work long hours and contribute for the development and process. E.G. Trade Support and PAC team, both will be terminated soon, but the employees don't know yet, just the leaders. The bonus is just ridiculous, salary as well. And barely have a meritocracy. It is more of a case that you are a friend of the leaders, share personal stories, and laugh at everything they do, then you are fine.
