Management: My manager was a woman who would make inappropriate comments about the size of my breasts and the value of my clothes (constant comments such as "did you make those clothes yourself?") were a daily situation. She would also explain how she wouldn't read the code of conduct of the organization as it had no value to her; hence her behaviour. My manager would also make constant comments about my height and general physical appearance (hair, makeup, shoes, etc.). I was unable to get into the mentorship program as she indicated: "I am a mentor and you get to work with me everyday". Job promotions, in most cases in my department, were given based on how much of a good friend you were with her and not based on merit or experience. BentallKennedy does a survey to evaluate their managers, but it is NOT confidential. Most employees won't say how they feel because of the lack of confidentiality. I tried to talk to HR about this and they explained they couldn't keep this kind of harassment information confidential. I was constantly tormented by the comments of this manager, her attitude, insecurities and extremely unprofessional way of working. This behaviour was general towards women, never with men. I was forced to get another job at a different company where human resources rules apply. I did learn a lot a BentallKennedy.

Where do I begin! There are so many cons but the main complaint is upper management. They do not have a clue as to how to manage rental buildings. They should stick to what they know commercial buildings. They show no support and have no issue of firing someone if they feel that the site it not running properly but if they had a clue as to how to run a site properly and not put the pressure on the team perhaps they would be more successful. Half the time you are trying to put out fires with the unhappy residents who live in the building.
