Pros

- Good salary, when "golden handcuffs" (good stock-option plan) are taken into account - Looks good on a resume - If you can survive here, then you can anywhere

Cons

- Work atmosphere is un-human. People are treated as slaves. Long hours are just assumed. Taking your vacation is considered a privilege. - Bad management (they are almost exclusively former engineers) - Lots of not-nice people to deal with. Not very many people to learn from; looks like only incompetent people stayed and everyone who was any good left. (Those very few good people left, please don't feel offended when reading this.) Another group of people who stays is guys who were with the company for many years, possibly expecting severance package if they are laid off. - Poor code-base - Lack of documentation - Forget about specs, just code something - Development is done in constant fire-fighting mode and too much chaos

The worst company I ever worked for

Pros

The pay is not bad. Stock bonus is fine. If all you care about is salary and are a workaholic (not judging), then this might be a good place for you.

Cons

Zero culture, work-life balance. The only thing they understand is money, they like to dangle the carrot of high salary as if that's all you need to have happy and effective employees. Going to the office is mandatory though we are in lockdown and we are just as productive (or more so) working at home. The alternative is to take unpaid leave. It cannot be clearer that the company does not care about you.

Pros

Really good salary and in my case, I was with the same team for 10+ years so chemistry was almost perfect.

Cons

Upper management does not want to invest in innovation. They simply want to buy up other companies, trim the fat, drive up the share price and then rinse & repeat. CEO is very egotistical, thinks he knows what's going on inside each business unit (impossible).
