      Fails to Hold Up Mission

      The mission is strong, great support from the community and partners

      Cons

      The founder fails to lead with empathy, honesty and understanding. She fails to hold herself accountable, while holding the mistakes of her employees against them, resulting in a stressful and toxic work environment. Difficult conversations surrounding performance were often done in front of other employees, creating a culture of fear and putting the mental health of the team at risk. The turnover is extremely high as a direct result of the poor leadership.

      The mission to empower young girls and women.

      Cons

      The founder has created a very toxic work environment. Over time you’re made to feel like you’re incompetent and are treated as such. No compliment is handed out without an insult soon to follow. She has said some very inappropriate and questionable things and has openly mocked employee’s mental health. You put your whole self into the mission only to find that what is preached to the public is not practiced behind closed doors. When you try to bring it up with management, you’re told that it’s your fault the company culture is as toxic as it is. Extremely disheartening and defeating.

      Pros

      Work with some really good people. Ability to build new skills, work on exciting things and expand network.

      Cons

      You will not feel valued. No amount of work is ever enough. An extremely unprofessional leader which results in low morale and high turnover.
