Pros

Leadership quality varies, widely. When you're on the right side of that, it's a solid place to be.

Cons

CNA's public-facing branding leads with "Asian perspective." The editorial reality is closer to a Singaporean one, a distinction that for those familiar with the media landscape here, carries its own set of blind spots. And many of the longer-tenured staff aka legacy staff reflect this "skewed" worldview because that has been the culture for decades within the organisation. Work-life balance exists, but as noted above, largely depends on who you report to. Expect after-hours messages not because of any breaking news, but because your manager has chosen that moment to review your work and share their thoughts. Responsiveness to feedback after standard office hours is, apparently, part of the job description, it just wasn't stated in the contract you signed. Beyond management, be prepared if you end up having to work with senior figures, i.e. reporters, as some do not respond well to their ideas being challenged, and pushback can turn combative quickly. And some even display this during the interview process.
