Pros

Great for when you're in school

Cons

No benefits to "C" employees, which is all that they hire now. Keep cutting hours in every department, so more work with less staff equals unhappy customers and staff. Extremely poor communication between head office and stores, and between management and staff. Have decided that we will not be getting more than 24 hours a week, meaning that in order to make ends meet, a second job is required. Union is a joke, not sure why we even have to pay dues. They never respond or answer the phone.

Pros

this is a great casual job for those who do not need a consistent employment or for students.

Cons

they are working towards union contracts that force all employees into casual employment only. those who do have guaranteed hours are being subject to displacement, a lack of security and being reduced to no pay raises.
