Pros

- Effectively the leftover culture from Mckesson Canada before they were sold so.. - Cake day every last thursday of the month - "Pager" on call shifts for extra dough - Plenty of free food opportunities - Socials/Outings - Decent pay All in all this is not the worst place but it is not the best place. I would best describe this as a intermediate to beginning step in your career as an RSA. Most of the knowledge is proprietary but a lot of it ties into IT based skill-sets.

Cons

- Pager shifts are also very taxing as you will receive plenty of calls and end up being bunkered down at home for an entire week - VERY toxic environment - Morale is dead low among employees and management are doing nothing about it - Merits are being delayed or just entirely non existent - MANAGEMENT BLOCKS EMPLOYEE GROWTH It's clear the product is unable to keep up with the current demands. Every team is understaffed and it will take a very long time to get an answer. Any employee who does excel at what they do will pick up the slack of other employees and effectively be punished for being good at their jobs. We're expected to be first line support for everything with only useless cheat sheets or knowledge articles to educate. Employees are at each others throats due to the sheer volume and low morale. Old timers are doubting their security. President of IWS left along with several higher ups. We've hit the iceburg and everyone knows the ship is sinking.

Schedule is king

Pros

Work life balance is really good. Depending on your position, employees have the option of working from home 2 days a week. Good benefits, with RRSP matching.

Cons

Toxic management atmosphere. It's all about the schedule and putting a shiny new band aid on the product. Distract the customers with new features, because the product base is 25 years old and starting to fall apart. Because managers are evaluated only by the timelines of their projects, schedule is everything. Doesn't matter if it works or kills someone, the project has to go out on time.
