Pros

- Flexible work hours for office staff. - You'll be happy working here if you're looking for a job that requires you to just show up and do the bare minimum.

Cons

Experience will vary from different departments and teams... - There is no career advancement or any training or development in this organization. - When you start, expect to sit around for 2 months, not doing much aside from filling samples. - People are not properly trained to do their jobs because there is no standard practices and procedures, training manuals, guides. New employees have nothing to reference. You either sink or swim. - CEO and leaders in senior positions don't seem to care about employees. - Salary and benefits are not competitive, they are low. Your salary is pretty much capped close to what they give you when you start. Even after years of service, the pay is still low, and if they pay you more than the norm, they never let you forget it. - There is no diversity in this organization. Be prepared to feel out of the loop if you don't understand Mandarin. - No company culture or values. The company's spiel of 'quality, innovation, service' is only marketing jargon for the company's products and services, but those values don't exist at all within the working culture of the company. - This is not a place for modern, ambitious, strategic, innovative or creative thinkers and workers. - How well you perform seems to be determined through hear say, gossip, and office politics, not actually by any measurable result or customer feedback. - Never got a performance review, never given notice when probation was passed or when contract was up. You won't get feedback whatsoever from the boss on whether you're doing a good job or not, if they plan to keep you or not. - Politics in this company is extremely bad. Senior leaders of the organization are extremely paranoid and have trust issues, causing their staff and people on all levels of the organization, to also be insecure, and paranoid. This also causes way too much gossip, and adolescent behavior. If you get caught 'playing with the other team' expect to be the black sheep and odd one out. - People don't take responsibility for the their work and mistakes, it's a never ending blame game. Instead of reviewing processes and implementing better procedures with other departments to fix issues, it's always trying to push responsibility and accountability back and forth which is unproductive. - Company's management style is dated. Don't suggest anything too modern or different, you will be quickly put in your place. - Moral is really low. - Everyone including HR seems to know what the issues are, but voicing your concerns gets you sucked into the politics of it all, and nothing will be done anyways. Better to just keep it to yourself. - All talk no action. - Pretty much a dead end job. - Decor and furniture in reception and waiting areas is really ugly, the board rooms look and feel dated, and office space is cluttered and unorganized. Just not a really nice place to host clients or vendors when they come to visit.

Pros

I'm going to reiterate the comment of a former employee, who has said all there needs to be said. Here's the pro: "If you have no self respect and no goals towards growth of your career then you can join this company." Beautifully stated. If you enjoy constant verbal abuse, yeah this is the place for you.

Cons

Oh, where to start? There is a different horror story every day so I have ample examples to share. However to spare you the overwhelming details, I'll be pleased to provide some relevant highlights so that prospective employees will think twice before taking ANY sort of position here. Every day I see the enthusiasm and light in the eyes of new hires die quickly as they realizes too late the predicament of their work situation, as the old hires jump ship given the first available opportunity, leading to epic turnover rates. ON WORKPLACE CONDITIONS/LOCATIONS - cramped office space coupled with poor ventilation. Here's the best part: they are about to move to an even smaller location. Don't hold your breath for better ventilation. As for parking space, prepare to fight bitterly for it. - located in the heart of East York, also known as the dead center of nowhere. ON PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT (...a lack thereof) - integrity? honorable conduct? Don't expect the impossible. Nobody cares about each other here. - Bosses (and those who merely think they are) brag about how much harder they work than you, or how much faster they can get things done than you (all without quantifying the workload or sharing this mysterious method of getting everything done always in half a day). As soon as THEIR boss leaves, they pull out their cellphones and instantly go on wechat. When the sound of the boss' footsteps approaches, panic registers on their faces as they frantically put their cellphones away and pretended that they've been working same as ever. Advice for you: If you don't put in actual work during actual work hours, then don't brag or complain that you've got work to take home to prove to others how hard working you are. In Accounting, work that is not delivered timely is work wasted. -They think they can get away with being disrespectful and rude, because they speak Chinese or Cantonese to each other about their real attitudes and motivations as soon as someone walks out of the office. At times, these comments tests the legal boundaries of workplace discrimination. If you're a visible minority (read: not Chinese), then this is not going to be a friendly workplace for you. You will be treated as an outsider. - They promises easily but do not deliver - Talk the talk, do not walk the walk. Everyone looks after their own interests instead of each other's, or that of the organization. That goes double for management. -you can try on a best effort, back breaking basis to deliver the result they want to see. Don't expect them to remember your contribution. Giving is a one way street to this organization's management. ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Don't expect the impossible. "You shall be bored, without the promise of reward." ON GOSSIP - bosses you work with do not confront you with any issues or concerns they may have. They smile and pretend everything's fine, then stab you in the back with nasty gossip to seclude you from everyone else, THEN expect you to learn your lessons. Hilarious! - Funny enough, these same bosses stab each other in the back by partaking and involving others in the same dirty gossip and office politics in a similar fashion. Unfortunately I have the dubious asian privilege of hearing and understanding everything. - my boss demonstrate no loyalty to her boss/CEO and complains constantly behind his back to the staff she manages. She wonders out loud why people avoid talking to her or engage her directly with her concerns. If she thinks a little harder about the kind of work environment she's participating in and look at the fear and demotivated faces of her staff, I'm sure she will come to the right conclusions. ON HOW YOU WILL BE MOTIVATED: - idle threats of laying off to the terrified employees, then laugh about it privately with fellow bosses. Clearly, wonderful and caring human beings.

Pros

none. There is nothing positive about this company. If you have no self respect and no goals towards growth of your career then you can join this company.

Cons

HR does not know the meaning of HR department, it’s a joke ! Worst management in entire Canadian History of work force. Canadian Government, Ministry of labour, Health Canada as well as FDA should immediately look into this organization. All illegal affairs are happening in this organization. Management is very poor. Instead of competing with immediate competitors this management competes with each other. Planning is zero. CEO is very arrogant and a fool who gets his ears fed by hand full of people and treats others upon the information given to him. One needs to learn Chinese language to communicate here. 95% employees are Chinese, communication is in Chinese right from top management to employees working on lines. Very dirty, unsafe and unorganized office area as well as production area. Very poor air quality, not healthy environment for employees to work for 8 hours. If you are with fresh and new innovative ideas or with such mind set please do not join this company because management here will not allow you to grow or make any changes. There is no system no Quality or no respect within this company. Documents are easily altered here prior to submit it to organizations like FDA and Health Canada. I wonder if our government officers are paid enough to let this company run in such conditions.
