Same Firm, Different Name

Pros

The merger and take-over from DWF provides some sort of credibility on a national scale.

Cons

- The firm largely operates as the same organization it was before. The culture and reputation associated with the prior name remain. - Very high turnover, particularly among junior lawyers, which affects continuity on files and client confidence. - Files are frequently reassigned. It is not uncommon for a single file to pass through multiple lawyers in a short period of time, leading to confusion and inefficiencies. - Junior lawyers often receive limited guidance or mentorship, resulting in a steep learning curve with little institutional support. Many associates have cried in the office out of frustration or overwhelm. - The workplace culture can feel unprofessional at times, with gossip and internal cattiness detracting from a collaborative environment. Toxicity amongst partners and the way they treat associates is also prevalent. - Management support is inconsistent, and concerns raised by staff are not always addressed meaningfully. - There have been situations where serious workplace issues were perceived as being handled quietly rather than transparently, which affected morale and trust. - The business model is heavily volume-driven, with an emphasis on frequent reporting and updating adjusters, sometimes at the expense of thoughtful file strategy.

Pros

Your choice of hybrid or remote

Cons

- Employees pay for benefits deducted from your pay - Even though you're a salary employee you have a monetary annual target from 250k upto 500k. If this is not reached you will not get a bonus and will potentially be terminated. - No SOP, reference material, training manuals. Nothing. - very Admin duty heavy. Your not really an examiner working on claims. Your duties is billing, paper work, meetings etc... - no perks like memberships or discounts at anywhere - Time recording. Down to the minute has to be logged and at the end of the day you have to total your 8 hours. A lot of people work 10 to 12 hours just to find 8 hours of time to bill for - The systems are a nightmare. You have to use the same system on 2 different platforms. Very tedious - High turnover
