higher level mangement takes things too personally and you get the impression that they have things to prove so they fish for errors even against each other. Some directors don't deserve their position because of lack of experience. There is not much room for short term growth, although they advertise otherwise by promoting the "you create a role/position and occupy it" idea. when I left (because I didn't like what I was doing - completely personal not because of the company), I tried adding a high level manger on LinkedIn but they refused several times, which I really find odd. (Maybe took it personally that I quit on him?) Too strict with the working from home policy and the time you come in and leave (except if you are the director or higher); again they promote the flexible hours but the definition for flexible hours is start between 7:30-9:30 and leave between 4-6 ... You have the feeling that you are always "monitored"so I felt insecure at times. My first, last and only day I was sick and working from home, the director actually found the time to go in and check how many hours I logged in - this was a huge deal breaker. This shows no trust and when confronted with that, they told me because we had incidents before with other employees working from home (prejudice).

Depending on the type of software/firmware/hardware you're working with, you won't always be using the edge technologies/techniques to get a problem sorted.
