Pros

Very little... work downtown (although that sucks at times due to no parking)

Cons

Where to start. I once read someone’s criticism for my employer that I thought was humorous yet not realistic (at least to me at the time it wasn’t). Now I feel the full effects of that evaluation and completely understand it. The criticism stated working at Dynacare (formally –Gamma-Dynacare) was like being in an abusive relationship. That the company just hounds you to work more/harder/better and in response the company disrespects its employees causing emotional and physical stress. I realize it now; I am living it right now. I have worked incredibly hard for this company over years of my time, I averaged 90 hours biweekly. I made so many scarifies to work extra weekends and nights to help better the company. I get nothing in return. NOT even a thank you. When un-appreciation by the company’s management is noted by multiple employees, there is retreat on words and a ‘we will change and be better’ cliché is said. That lasts for a week and then back to the un-appreciation, the hounding to do more work, stay longer, and come in on days off begins in a cycle of torment. This repeats till people go get injured through RSIs, lack of sleep, and go on stress leave (4 in one department and still counting I’m sure). This company does nothing good for its employees but try to beat down their spirit till nothing exists. Once happy and content employees end up forced to attend therapy to cope with the emotional strain that is their job and even turned to medical help for the physical strain on their bodies from being overworked.

Pros

Co-workers in the ranks are incredible. Great teams to work with.

Cons

Management issues. I've been full-time employed here for more than 8 years. I've seen my fair share of management turnover from the C level down. Never have I seen more back stabbing or ego issues with management. It's like walking on glass everyday. You're bound to embarrass a director and be thrown to the wolves. Time to move on.

Pros

The people that actually do the work are fantastic! Probably one of the best staffs I have worked with and they are completely committed to Dynacare. This actually works to their disadvantage however, as Dynacare abuses their loyalties with outrageous workloads and unpaid overtime.

Cons

Do not be fooled by the "Top Emloyers in GTA" label...this is bought and paid for...not earned. They are operating under the strictest cost cutting measures to hit their goal of 1/2 billion dollar company by 2018. The staff are extremely overworked, there is zero employee engagement, and advancement is limited to managerial favourites. Instead of actually being creative in their cost cutting plan, they simply fire people...so staff works constantly in fear of job loss. Even if you are doing a good job you are still expendable. Initiatives to improve culture are started periodically but never brought to fruition...I see it as a ploy to appease the staff for short periods of time before resorting back to the status quo. Middle management is weak for the most part, so there is absolutely no push-back to control the constant barrage of work coming from the VPs. Upper management is so out of touch with the day to day that they have no idea how much work is involved in their requests. But hard deadlines are committed to even though they don't have the employee resources to fulfil the promises...this results in tons of overtime...most of it unpaid. If you don't mind putting in 70 hour weeks, this place is ideal for you.
