Feels like a graveyard / stay away

Pros

- Unlimited PTO to escape the miserable work environment. - With so much turnover, there must be career progression opportunities for those that stay. Just make sure to be friendly with the head of the department.

Cons

- The product focus/strategy changes every other month. Nothing works. Sales have no clue what they are supposed to be selling. - Product development appears to have stopped for years. Products are dated and little or no updates are ever made. Even bugs are not fixed. - ELT is trying to patch up the holes in the budget by doing multiple rounds of layoffs in the last couple years. This has left all teams understaffed and demoralized. - Most people (including management) are checked out and do the bare minimum. This is very frustrating for anyone that tries to get things done. So people stop and just do the bare minimum as well until they find another job. - Pay equity is a joke the ELT likes to bring up often to the employees' frustration. Top performers know that they are underpaid and that others in the same role can be making as much as double their salary. Same title, same location, doesn't matter. Leadership would rather see them leave and replace them with a newbie on higher pay than give them a raise. Go figure. - Diversity is also joke. Just look at the ELT headshots. - Customer satisfaction is going downhill fast. Having to deal with angry customers on a daily basis. To summarize: bad products, no strategy, no investment, depressing culture

Thank you for your time at Emburse, and I’m sorry to hear that this was your experience. I invite you to reach out to me personally so I can better understand your feedback. As the Chief People Officer, it is my hope and intention that every employee can thrive and grow. While I won’t go through your points individually, there are a few things I’d like to address. We continue to actively invest in both our products and our people. As a result, Emburse has seen a sustained double-digit growth rate, and recent news announcing an acquisition and partnership. The People Operations team is also focused on supporting the development and advancement of our employees and always looking for ways to continually enhance offerings for employees. If this was not the case for you, please let us know so we can explore this further. Finally, I’d like to add that we stand firmly behind the management team at Emburse. Our leaders have helped position our company to grow, aligned us in a position for success in the future, and together remain committed to our people, customers, and products. - Danielle Tabor, Chief People Officer

Pros

A lot of great colleagues

Cons

Emburse continues to employ people who are known to be abusive. You can get away with really foul behavior at this company as long as you know the right people. Workloads are beyond unmanageable. Management understaffs operations teams instead of hiring enough people to guarantee that the timelines the salesteam communicates to customers can be met. I noticed that this company likes hiring recent immigrants for its lowest paid departments. Maybe the idea is that recent immigrants will not complain about the working conditions and accept the low pay more readily

We appreciate you taking the time to share your candid feedback. I want you to know I take this issue very seriously and that any type of abusive or inappropriate behavior within our organization will not be tolerated. I encourage you to contact your HR/People Ops representative so that we can look into the matter immediately. You shared your experience that you feel overworked, and it's important that we address this together. To support our objectives, each business unit and functional group has a clear strategy through which they prioritize the alignment of time, people and dollars against areas that will accelerate long-term growth. If you are feeling overworked, or that we are not addressing these strategic areas properly, please raise this with your manager or the HR team. Together you can work on a detailed plan to prioritize your work, and balance your commitments. As for personnel, we continue to grow rapidly and are always working diligently to find the most qualified candidates for open roles within our organization. Our hiring process is thoughtful and rigorous, and we take pride in our diverse, talented employee base. - Eric Friedrichsen, CEO
