Pros
Company has a good brand name. If you work for Adyen people will be impressed. One of the leaders in payments globally, with an amazing client base.
Cons
I've never worked in a company that moves so slowly, with seamingly clueless product leadership as to what goes on in the ground which is slow decline and lack of morale or motivation to work. The view seems to be that if you hire enough senior middle managers from Meta, Google, Uber etc things will move faster. The reality is: - The entire tech stack is not fit for rapid iteration - There is no data analytics function or data ownership/governance, meaning it is very hard to understand what is what - Features and products are not tracked in any way to understand their efficacy, no product analytics function - I have personally seen feature requests from clients that get brought up for over 3 years and never shipped - Multiple products half built and then killed. It is normal for basic UI changes to take 3-6 months to go live. - Meetings often contain 10-15 people in a room with no action items or follow ups seen through. - Engineering leadership is not up to date with the latest trends in AI nor upskilling themselves to modernise the tech stack.
