Cons
Over the last year, Senior leadership and CRO are coming from outside of the industry with 0 experience and knowledge of the real challenges facing us. They come from tech organizations and high achieving sales but do not have a deep understanding of the educational and international recruitment field. This is a concern as the top down strategy is heavily relied upon AI solving all of ApplyBoard's problems. We are concerned that current leadership doesn't see beyond the "commerical mentality". Decisions are being made without consideration of policy, tailored human approaches to working with human clients while embracing AI. This is where ApplyBoard is failing. The CRO doesn't come from the industry and if anyone knows more than them they become insecure and apprehensive in meetings. This is not helpful to our company morale and people on the inside who see the importance of understanding the sector while embracing AI. 2026 will be a critical year if ApplyBoard becomes an industry champion or another EdTech AI clone. We need leaders who have intellectual humility and true interest in their people succeeding. ApplyBoard your people really care about the business, the students and the brand.
