Pros
There are some really great people here. The concept is actually really good, and has a lot of potential. This means there are a lot of problems that need to be solved. You have a lot of flexibility in finding something to do that you enjoy. The benefits are reasonable for a tech company.
Cons
The biggest issue is the “leadership” team (quotes used because the majority don’t lead). The executive team in particular has a lot of challenges and is completely disconnected from the reality of running a company. The CEO is the root of the issues; he is unable to admit he is out of his depth and has been the cause of a lot of issues. He also can act like a 4 year old, throwing (very vocal) temper tantrums because he doesn’t like to be held accountable. The shame is that if he simply stepped aside, the work could be orders of magnitude better. After that point, the fake directors, VPs and C-suite people would be quickly found out to be frauds and swept aside. The other issue is compensation (especially in the context of how they spend money). Don’t expect to make money here. You’ll be told to drink the koolaid about how you will be changing the world. But those words don’t pay a mortgage or childcare. The equity package is nowhere near competitive.
