Pros
- WFH is great - pay is decent
Cons
You’ll be thankful for WFH because BGIS can be an extraordinarily toxic workplace. During my time there, I observed serious concerns around management, fairness, conflicts of interest, and workplace culture. Office politics seemed to matter more than performance, and employees were not always treated consistently. Some individuals appeared to receive favourable treatment, while others were criticized or reprimanded for vague issues such as “engagement.” I also had concerns about how public funds were being used, including situations where former employees returned as consultants at significantly higher rates while performing similar duties. Overall, my experience was that the environment could be political, inconsistent, and difficult to trust. If you are not favoured by the right people, it can feel like you are being undermined rather than supported.
