Pros
When I joined many years back, it was a great place to work. Good pay, and the work I felt like I mattered to the company. I was making a difference and my practice, is my practice. I ran it as I saw fit, based on what my clients needed.
Cons
Lots of irrational change has caused many of us to leave. You will find lots of positive comments here, but mostly from people who are asked to boost the "overall rating" up in order to further managements hiring numbers. If you do your research, the company hasn't grown for many years in terms of assets under management... which is an indication of poor management across the board. VP's are a dime a dozen. Some were former wholesalers with a VP title, but nobody on the hiring committee realized they do not have people management experience. This has led to them bullying us, cc'ing executives and C-Suite level personnel on emails to intimidate us, etc. Constant make-work projects. Why do these people believe I need to honor their ridiculous requests? My focus is my clients. A VP sat in on one of my client meetings and I couldn't have been more humiliated. The questions asked and behaviors exhibited clearly showed he had no client relationship skills. I've been with the company a long time, but when I lost that client (they specifically said it was the VP who was the issue as they felt interrogated), the firm lost me as well. When I asked others to join me as I leave, many others have experienced the same and open to the idea. My advice, don't run into a fire that everyone is trying to get away from.
