Pros
The best and only reason to work here is pension and benefits. You have a gold plated defined benefit pension with a very decent rate of compensation. You have excellent relocation and various other employee benefits.
Cons
Absolutely byzantine bureaucracy. People are so wound up in their internal politics they have no concept and do not care about making money or goals. I have first hand witnessed managers ruin excellent high return projects simply because the proposer spoke a counterpoint in a meeting 3 months ago. Conforming to the current practice is the only way to exist. Quintile ancient ranking system destroys teamwork and removes employees from a sense of ownership of business goals. No one cares about work and everyone adds delay. Ever person in the approval or review chain will add comments and validate their existence so that 99.99% of projects never go anywhere. Risk avoidance not risk management. This business is in serious trouble culturally and financially.
