Having worked for many studios in Montreal and having worked outside Canada, I can say without a doubt that Ludia is a real gem! A lot of the comments I'm reading here, sound to me, like it's coming from people with very little industry experience who don't have much to compare against. - Great studio & team atmosphere - They value a good work / life balance - Management & HR are very approachable and always available if you have any questions of concerns that you would like to voice - Food & happy hours are extremely generous to say the least! - Solid Stability with a good company backbone! - Very generous employee health coverage - Beautifully located in Old Montreal with accessibility to metro - An exemplary CEO who is very approachable and generous with his time - Projects are fun and some are backed by solid licenses - Teams are just the right size to allow you to get to know everyone you work with
Cons
It would be ridiculous to think that Ludia does everything right! No person or studio does everything right, it's impossible. In the same way we constantly work to improve ourselves I can say the same about this studio. Every year the studio improves, sometimes it's small things that employees request and sometimes it's big things like a new game engine that takes many years to develop. They do their best to improve year after and having been here for 3 years, every year it gets better and better! .......The studios imperfections mixed with accessible Mangers, Producers & HR allow for people to rise to the occasion which wouldn't be possible at most other studios. That makes for a very unique opportunity to grow, feel appreciated & valued and help a wonderful young studio like Ludia grow as well!
