Pros
The most distinctive aspect of PNI's identity is the culture. This is an extremely dynamic and fast-paced environment, and you will immediately hit the ground running. This workplace is ideal for people who like to be presented with challenges and take initiative. The environment favours people who are not afraid to step up and take a task head-on. But the people are really what makes this place great: they are energetic, good-natured, helpful and highly professional. They work hard and have fun doing it. This place definitely has some of the top talent in Vancouver. Management genuinely makes an effort to connect with its employees through various methods - open door policies, one on ones, town halls, and regular communication. They also periodically hold focus groups to gather anonymous feedback from employees, which then drives internal initiatives, and the effort does show. There are also some cool benefits like wellness funds, group activities, summer/Christmas parties, and town socials (which include plenty of beer and food). The office space is dog friendly and nicely designed, with a centralized kitchen/game room and an open atmosphere. The office is located near Gastown only a couple blocks from transit, and the food options nearby are endless. This is an awesome place to work if you're up to the challenge. I would definitely recommend it if the culture suits your preferred working style.
Cons
Despite best efforts, company practices still are not 100% agile - more hybrid. The company would benefit from management having true buy-in with the agile methodology. Hard deadlines are occasionally a result of this disconnect, and OT can get excessive with high-profile projects.
