I’ve been with PGI for several years now, and I find it an incredibly easy-going environment. The management is understanding and flexible, which makes work-life balance achievable. There is an emphasis on conscientiousness., and we are encouraged to be careful, thoughtful, and thorough in our work. This quality is valued and recognized, which motivates us to maintain high standards in everything we do. PGI also promotes self-improvement. and has a generous budget allocated for employee development. We are encouraged to attend workshops, webinars, and even pursue further education. It’s great to see a company invest in its employees’ growth. The synergy in our team is remarkable. Everyone collaborates and supports each other, creating a harmonious and productive work environment. In terms of stability, PGI is a solid company. Even in uncertain times, the company has managed to stay strong and continue growing. Lastly, the challenges here are real. The tasks push us to utilize our skills to the fullest and even learn new ones. It’s a great place for anyone looking to grow both personally and professionally.

Although PGI tries to offer as many company outings as possible during work cycles, it falls short in the area of employee retention motivators that other companies tend to use a bait for poaching. Such as bonuses or RRSP matching for example.

As a long time employee at the company it has been quite the journey seeing the company grow and change over the years. Piranha offers competitive salaries and great benefits, but by far the best part of the company is its experienced and relaxed staff. There is a sense of comfort and camaraderie among teammates that makes the company feel more like a family than a workplace. Work life balance is prioritized at the company, without there being any mandated crunch time. The company is always looking into using the latest technologies for their new projects, so things stay exciting knowing you are gaining experience with bleeding edge tech. Overall a great place to work.

After the pandemic, the company transitioned to exclusively remote work, which some may prefer, but some may not enjoy. While the remote setup is perfectly functional, making connections with fellow employees is not as easy via video calls. While base salary is very competitive, the company currently lacks a bonus structure which may have contributed to retention problems in the past. This is something the management team is aware of and hopes to address in the future.
