Pros
There are not really any.
Cons
Leadership team, compensation, benefits, staffing, power ranking system.
My time at prime as come to and end. High performers don’t leave because of the work- they leave because of the environment.
Here are some situations that contributed to my voluntary departure from the company:
-My leadership team specifically has treated their employees so poorly that my DM quit after day 1 of meeting our MD, and staffing has been falling ever since.
-They have offered a promotion to RSM to an employee and then the promotion got denied because they hadn’t been with the company long enough- and then they hired someone with no wireless experience to be the store manager for that very store.
-They transferred an RSM to another store, and then that transfer got denied for whatever reason- after the employee had already moved, forcing them to demote.
-They also forced a manager to move to a different store because they don’t speak Spanish, and then promoted another employee to that store- who doesn’t speak Spanish.
-Another manager was offered a transfer to a brand new store, which was closer to home, and after having him do all of the duties needed to open a brand new store, and spending countless hours working in that store, they denied his transfer and proceeded to hold him accountable to the numbers from his original store (while he wasn’t there) that was short staffed and suffering while he was working on the new store.
Unfortunately for them, none of the above examples directly impacted me. However, what did impact me:
-dramatic changes to commission and power ranking structure leading to thousands of dollars of losses.
-being unfairly treated and targeted
/retaliated against for utilizing the company’s “open door policy” and for posting general, work appropriate, questions and feedback on the company’s internal forum tool that is specifically intended for questions. In this case, my leadership team told me to “not post on prime portal because it gives the company a bad wrap.”
-being held to a double standard with regards to appropriate communication in a private text message thread.
-poor and inconsistent communication involving the leadership team.
-being forced to work open to close because of an ongoing staffing situation that started when the current market director took over.
I hope changes are made to create a healthier culture moving forward. But because of this leadership team, I chose to exit and move to a company that actually values their employees.
