Pros
- Top talent - Good work/life balance - SPIFFs - Some teams maintain the old Salesforce culture I loved, but they're few and far between
Cons
- Unequal territories across teams; some reps have 5-10 accounts, while others have 1-3 - Pay... must boomerang to work your way up and earn a competitive OTE - Morale is abysmal - Very few reps in my vertical are anywhere near hitting quota - Your first line manager has entirely too much control over your trajectory here. For example, the manager I interviewed with moved to another team, and the manager who replaced him actively blocked me from promotion after marking me as "inconsistent" - despite me finishing #2 in my segment and closing the second-most on-dash ACV. This meant I was ineligible for promotion, even though I exceeded annual quota each year. Unfortunately, politics matter more than performance. - The revolving door of managers - some ride the coattails of their reps' performance, while some who are actually good at their job are PIPed out as scapegoats for upper management.
