Pros
A fantastic hard-working environment with everyone pulling their weight! No cheesy motivational posters on the walls but everyone knows what the values are. Good work is always rewarded and recognized! Bad performance is always called out by someone, and it doesn't matter if it's a warehouse labourer or a Director, nobody gets away with poor performance. The company has a true open door policy. At Saltworks all you need to do is focus on doing your work with quality. You always know what your objectives and priorities are, what criteria are used for your performance reviews, you do not ever need to play corporate politics. Understand your objectives and deliver on them, raise your hand if you have internal or external obstacles and you will get help - it's that simple.
Cons
Not a negative for me but be ready to work 8 to 5:30. This is not a place where you take a 1.5 hour lunch on Friday and get to go home early. If your workload is light you will be helping other departments. If the warehouse becomes a mess you will be right there with the warehouse staff cleaning it. The company is not big on perks and special treatment and catered lunches so don't expect that. To me the direct no-nonsense style was refreshing but might not be for anyone.
