Pros

US employees have health benefits. No pros for Canadian employees.

Cons

Absolute horrible leadership. All engineering decisions are made at the executive level (mainly by Hugo) by the people who doesn't have any engineering or domain background. There is constant change of process and expectation. I had 4 different managers in 6 months. It's like starting a new job every month as I need to prove myself to the new manager. For that reason, you don't expect any growth in your career. No one cares about your growth as directors and above are looking for their next opportunity with the next re-org that'll happen at most 6 months later. Canadian pay bands are way lower than US pay bands although Toronto is one of the most expensive cities in North America. There’s a lot of talk and not a single action at this company. Every executive visits Toronto office pretends to listen to our problems, makes false promises than disappear until next town hall. Early meetings (6am, 7am) are becoming a norm as engineering teams are shifting to India due to low costs. Needless to says that you get what you pay for. Management made it very clear on several occasions: "if you don't like it here, then leave". That's why development teams are losing people faster than they can be replaced.

Pros

There was once a great company named Ultimate Software, it was destroyed by a hostile takeover from H&F, a private equity firm, and a merger with Kronos to become UKG. There are very few Pros since that time.

Cons

When this company was Ultimate Software, prior to the takeover from H&F and the merger with Kronos, it was a world class company with top shelf people. The company Motto was "People First" and they truly lived by that motto, never a layoff, great working environment and stealer benefits. Since the takeover and subsequent merger with Kronos, to become UKG this company has taken a path of "Money First", which is understandable given the greedy nature of Private Equity Firms like H&F. They have systematically closed most of the offices across the US and have been expanding their footprint in Noida India, for obvious reasons. The leadership that has been put in place by H&F is clearly focused on IPO. And we all know what that means, clean up the books and make the company look as good on paper as possible. Can you say "Lipstick on a Pig". This was once a great company when it was run by Scott and Viv but now it has gone the way of the Private Equity management and is heading for a great fall.
