Pros

Shared liberal values, social justice oriented, 35 hour workweek, 100% remote work options for some. Flexible schedules. Boston area is nice place to work.

Cons

Minimal professional development, no performances based increases, troubled hierarchy issues. Culture struggles to support BIPOC and neurodivergent employees. Questionable operating practices. Open offices offer little privacy.

Pros

Not many pros. Some of the HQ staff were nice and helpful, but most were clueless about the work we were doing at the UN.

Cons

When Donald Trump withdrew the USA from the World Health Organization, all the faith based organizations met to decide what to do. I reported this meeting to the UUA and got a call telling me, "Don't you know you are a White Man telling a Black Woman what to do?" I responded that I wasn't telling anyone to do anything. I was just reporting what other faith-based organizations were doing. In the end the UUA did nothing about Trump's withdrawal of the USA from the World Health Organization in the midst of the COVID Pandemic.
