Pros

The benefits are great and its a nice place to work. People take an interest in one another.

Cons

There is an inside circle, mainly of people who are minsters or born UU. If you aren't inside that circle, then things will get difficult. Also, as it is so democratic many people will be telling you how to do your job, even if they have little knowledge of what you actually do.

Pros

Not many pros. Some of the HQ staff were nice and helpful, but most were clueless about the work we were doing at the UN.

Cons

When Donald Trump withdrew the USA from the World Health Organization, all the faith based organizations met to decide what to do. I reported this meeting to the UUA and got a call telling me, "Don't you know you are a White Man telling a Black Woman what to do?" I responded that I wasn't telling anyone to do anything. I was just reporting what other faith-based organizations were doing. In the end the UUA did nothing about Trump's withdrawal of the USA from the World Health Organization in the midst of the COVID Pandemic.
